About Us

Encounter is the youth ministry of Strandtown Baptist Church, Belfast.

Our programmes are intended to cater for those in year 8-14 (age 11-18) – offering opportunities to meet together as a large group and in smaller group settings, as well as age group specific social events & activities throughout the year!

Our main programmes are:

The Encounter Friday Night Project - which brings everyone from year 8-14 together for worship, teaching, banter, games, activities & a time to just hang out with friends. We place a real emphasis on making this a space where you can meet with God in a way that suits you.

Encounter LifeGroups - Which are small groups designed for different age ranges, that run at various points throughout the week. Offering a chance to go deeper and discuss your faith with your peers and friends.

Our Purpose, Vision & Values:

Purpose: To make disciples of 11-18s who love God, love others and love the lost

Vision: To see 11-18s become disciples, grow as disciples and make disciples
