Make a Difference…

As part of the Friday Night Project we believe that we should be Salt & Light in the world, and that God calls us to make a difference and bring change in the world, because He has changed us. What’s even more a amazing is that, as we get more involved in bringing the change to the world that God wants, we tend to get changed even more ourselves!

So, here are some of the ways that Encounter seeks to bring change, and to ‘act justly, love mercy & walk humbly with our God’ (Micah 6:8)

Sponsorship

We sponsor a child in the CVII foundation in Bogota, Colombia – and part of our offering each week goes towards being able to sponsor him, pay for his home, education & food, as well as for things like birthday & Christmas gifts.

Storehouse

We partner with the Belfast Storehouse Charity to collect in tinned & non-perishable foods, which can be distributed to homes & families in need, right here in our own city. We collect for Storehouse on an on-going, weekly basis.

Global Awareness

We try our best at Encounter to be continually making people aware of the needs in our world – from world poverty, sanitation & water issues, through to the suffering Church & world mission. Sometimes we will take special offerings, raise money, spend time in prayer, or give over special nights to look at these issues together.
