Here we go again!
So, it's that time of year again - we have been beavering away over the summer trying to get things sorted for the new season of the Encounter Friday Night Project as well as running various random summer outings and, of course, Activate! But now it's so nearly time for everything to kick off again, and we have a lot of exciting stuff in the pipeline - and we are really excited about our teaching and worship programme this year, and are looking forward to seeing God at work!
You can check out the general outline of our Sept-Dec programme HERE but there is still loads of stuff that we want to stick in around it that will make it ridiculously fun! We have been looking at all manner of activities, outings, games and ideas trying to come up with something amazing - but we are still open to your ideas and suggestions! Indiana Land here we come!!!
On Friday 5th March 2010 Friday Night Project are going to Indiana Land for a night of fun.
To attend this you need to have a completed Indiana Land Parent Consent Form and it be returned to Dave Linton (Address on form) by Thursday 4th March.
Cost: £5
Drop of : 8.40pm
Pick up: 10.30pm

Time is Marching On…
Hey everyone, hope you are all looking forward to another exciting incoming week, and are having a great Monday so far! Just a couple of things to fill you in about, so check out below!
1. ABORTION VOTE ON UUSU.ORG WEBSITE
The Students Union of the University of Ulster are having a referendum on whether the 1967 Abortion Act should be extended to Northern Ireland, and the closing date to vote on this is TOMORROW! So why not go and express your view by simply going to UUSU.org and then ticking a box and clicking vote! This is especially important if you go to UUJ or Coleraine etc as the outcome will be seen to be the student bodys view!
2. STOREHOUSE :
Please continue the BIG push for Christmas as they are very short of stuff at the minute and we only technically have 3 weeks left to make a difference in that! Here are some things they are looking for:
1. Pasta
2. Pasta Sauce
3. Tinned potatoes
4. Tinned veg
5. Tinned Soup
6. Long Life Milk

4. COMING UP:
This week sees the third and final week in our Jonah series, last week was pretty challenging, so hopefully you guys will all be able to get along to this week too. Following that we have guest speakers from Abanna looking more into the area of Child Soldiers etc and the Fast for Africa. It will be a great week.
5. PRAY :
Please pray for Ian Boal as he heads off to Dunkineely on his TOM team mission down south for a week or so...
Also pray for the Persecuted Church as this Sunday was Persecuted Church Sunday. Pray especially for a very current situation involving the Kogi people group in Colombia.
Pray for the upcoming Encounter weekend that it will be a great time to build up strong friendships and to go deeper into Gods word.

Post Half-Termness!
Well, hope you are having a great Wednesday and have had a great Half-term holiday! Encounter starts back up again this weekend following the break, so here's the deal with what is happening! :
1. FRIDAY NIGHT PROJECT ::
Well, following a couple of 'different' weeks at Encounter in October we are back to the usual Friday night line up, with doors opening at 8.30pm and finishing up at 11pm. Please dress appropriately for queuing out in the cold weather or the rain if you are going to be arriving early - as we won't be letting people in before 8.30pm!
2. YEAR 11-14 WEEKEND :: (4-6th Dec)
We have extended the return date for forms for year 11-14's to allow you to bring your forms along this weekend/Friday night along with your £50 for the weekend, which will be awesome banter! This is because the past few weeks of Encounter have been slightly different with Soulsister, Worship Central and the Half term break! So get your forms in on Friday to guarantee a place!
3. STOREHOUSE ::
We have now hit November, and the Christmas season is upon us. So therefore we would love to do a MASSIVE Storehouse push and really collect a whole load of food to help through the Christmas season for those less fortunate than us. PLEASE start bringing along non-perishable items from this Friday forward as we will finish for Christmas on 11th Dec and so there isn't really a lot of time between now and then!
4. UPCOMING ::
This Friday sees the start of our new series on Jonah for the next 3 weeks, following that we have a visit from ABANNA on 27th Nov, then the Encounter weekend and then a final Christmas Party on 11th December!
